# National Retail Federation

> The National Retail Federation (NRF) is the world's largest retail trade association, representing the breadth and diversity of the retail industry. NRF's membership includes retailers of all sizes and formats, as well as chain restaurants, industry partners and international retailers. NRF advocates on behalf of the retail industry on issues ranging from swipe fees and trade policy to data privacy and workforce development. NRF is headquartered in Washington, D.C. and was founded in 1911. NRF's CEO is Matthew Shay. The organization produces original research on retail sales, consumer spending and industry trends, and hosts the annual Retail's Big Show conference.
