NRF Briefing: The Supreme Court and Climate Change- July 12, 1pm ET

Conference Call
July 12, 2022 1:00pm to 2:00pm Eastern

Last week, the Supreme Court issued a ruling in West Virginia vs. Environmental Protection Agency that imposes limits on EPA’s ability to address climate change. To understand the impacts of the decision and how it might affect NRF’s retail and restaurant members, NRF has invited Gary Guzy, former EPA General Counsel and environmental law expert with Covington & Burling, LLP, to share his insights in a July 12 webinar from 1:00 to 2:00 (ET).

During the webinar, Gary will:

  • Explain the decision
  • Highlight the difference between the scope of the actual decision and the media and NGO narratives about the decision
  • Address the Court’s “major questions doctrine” and its implications for other federal agencies, including SEC’s ability to mandate climate disclosure requirements
  • Explore potential impacts on NRF members strategies to meet net zero climate commitments
