NRF Global Privacy Task Force Call with Microsoft guest speakers – December 1, 2020

NRF’s Global Privacy Task Force (GPTF) will host representatives of Microsoft’s legal and policy teams for a discussion on the state of transatlantic data flows following recent EU developments, including Microsoft’s views on:

  • the European Data Protection Board’s Recommendations regarding Supplemental Measures following the Schrems II decision; and
  • the European Commission’s Draft Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)

Microsoft Guest Speakers:

  • Geff Brown – Associate General Counsel, Privacy and Regulatory Affairs
    • leads Microsoft's privacy legal team and counsels all aspects of Microsoft businesses on privacy and data protection issues
  • Norman Barbosa – Assistant General Counsel, Law Enforcement & National Security (LENS)
    • leads Microsoft’s global law enforcement and national security compliance and public policy efforts
    • responsible for coordinating Microsoft’s worldwide data access compliance (i.e., government access requests related to law enforcement and surveillance)
  • Ed Britan – Senior Director & Policy Counsel for Privacy & AI
    • subject matter expert on data privacy and AI for the U.S. Government Affairs policy team located in Washington, DC
         

In addition to members of NRF’s Global Privacy Task Force, all members of NRF’s Policy Council, General Counsel’s Forum, Privacy Working Group, and Privacy Professionals Task Force are welcome to join the call.
