Mizzen+Main is an American-made company that’s not only passionate about its product, but veterans too.

This is Retail goes behind the scenes to learn how the company’s performance-fabric menswear is dedicated to a good cause.

His dream started with the idea of creating a sweat-proof, drama-free dress shirt for the man on the move. Today, Mizzen+Main founder and CEO Kevin Lavelle runs a Dallas-based company that “bridges the gap between service and the startup scene” by directly hiring veterans and launching projects that benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation.

There’s nothing that makes Mizzen+Main prouder than supporting the American economy by cutting and sewing their shirts in the United States. They say it best themselves: “We believe in the importance of keeping our products manufactured within our borders, so we can pour our success back into the very place that helped us get started.”

With support from Marcus Luttrell, a Navy SEAL who inspired the film “Lone Survivor,” Mizzen+Main has raised thousands in donations for veterans by selling a custom Navy Seal Foundation shirt at major donor events like this one worn by JJ Watt (above). But that’s just the start of their work with veterans: They’ve also brought on three veteran employees, plan to employ more by continuing their “Shirt for a Start” program and are the largest private donor to the Dallas VA Breast Cancer treatment center
