Mike Lemon

Mike Lemon is vice president of legal affairs at the National Retail Federation. In this role, he is responsible for developing and implementing federal legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts on a range of ecommerce and marketplace issues. 

Prior to joining NRF, Lemon worked as a policy and advocacy expert with the Internet Association, a trade association representing the world’s leading internet technology companies. At IA, he directed policy efforts regarding intellectual property, speaking in roundtables before the Copyright Office and as a panelist in patent policy conferences. Lemon also led domestic and foreign advocacy efforts in a variety of other policy areas related to internet technology, including content moderation, privacy and marketplace issues. 

Before joining IA, Lemon spent nearly seven years with the Senate Judiciary Committee, working for Senator Mike Lee, R-Utah, on the full range of issues under the Committee’s jurisdiction. He was particularly involved in the areas of government surveillance and access to data, intellectual property and immigration. 

Lemon is a native of the Philadelphia suburbs and holds a juris doctorate and a bachelor’s degree in music from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
