NRF PROTECT is back — in person

Celebrate, connect and collaborate at retail’s most important security event
VP, Education Strategy

Virtual events had their moment and served our industry well during the COVID-19 crisis, but it’s time to get together again, in person, to celebrate the camaraderie and connections that break through a screen.

After a two-year hiatus, the National Retail Federation looks forward to welcoming executives back to NRF PROTECT, June 21-23 in Cleveland.

The past 24-plus months have transformed every aspect of retail loss prevention. Executives were called upon to reinvent processes and overhaul procedures. For many, their roles have shifted from siloed responsibilities to a much broader footprint that called for teaming up with supply chain, operations and global risk leaders.

Top of mind for many are the brazen incidents of organized retail crime that continue to soar. ORC is reported to cost retailers an average of $700,000 for every $1 billion in sales, according to NRF data. Crime and violence are climbing in cities from coast to coast, and this trend, which began to surge early in the COVID-19 pandemic, shows no sign of lessening.

It’s time to come together in the quest to find some answers and potential solutions.

Over three days infused with networking, education and exploration, NRF PROTECT will provide loss prevention, asset protection, fraud and cybersecurity executives with the opportunity to explore emerging trends, new technologies and countless insights. With over 200 solution providers, 50+ elite speakers, more than 20 curated sessions and NRF's one-of-a-kind Fusion Center, the stage is set for a standout conference and expo.

Keynote speakers include Evy Poumpouras, a former Secret Service agent who will explore shifts in consumer behavior and how it’s shaping security and risk management, and Bill Evanina, former director of the U.S. National Counterintelligence and Security Center, who will delve into managing visible and invisible threats.

Also on hand to share their expertise are Jodie Kautt of Target, John Matas of Etsy, Michele Stuart of JAG Investigations and David Thompson of Wicklander & Zulawski. We will tackle topics ranging from organized retail crime and digital fraud to mass shootings and the future of risk. And if you’re looking for some ideas on what the future holds, we’re ready to serve up 10 predictions for 2027.

Be sure to get to Cleveland on June 21 for the NRF PROTECT opening party/jam session at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Live music from Voyage — the ultimate Journey tribute band will set the mood for not “Only the Young,” but all retail executives across loss prevention segments who ascribe to a “Don’t Stop Believin’” ethos.
