NRF’s Shop.org conference at the Los Angeles Convention Center came to a conclusion Wednesday after more than 3,500 attendees enjoyed keynotes, breakout sessions, a busy exhibit hall and networking and learning opportunities where the theme was retail’s digital reinvention.

After two full days of content, attendees had some overarching lessons. Women's Wear Daily came away with the importance of brands, while the big technologies were artifical intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality and machine learning.

Walmart eCommerce U.S. President and CEO Marc Lore’s lessons on how to keep innovation alive even inside a large corporation was popular fodder for conversation.
NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay spoke to CNBC about a tax reform proposal by the Trump administration and congressional leadership, saying the measure could provide a major boost for the nation’s economy, while Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti spoke to the Shop.org crowd about L.A. as a hub of innovation in retail and ecommerce.
