Kaplan will return much-needed balance to labor relations

WASHINGTON – The National Retail Federation today called on the Senate to swiftly confirm President Trump’s nominee for the National Labor Relations Board, Marvin Kaplan.

“Mr. Kaplan has significant expertise and experience in labor policy matters, and NRF is confident he will serve as a neutral arbiter of the law,” NRF Senior Vice President for Government Relations David French said. “He is a highly qualified and well-respected labor attorney who should be confirmed without delay. We urge the administration to work swiftly to fill the one remaining open spot on the board and create a majority that puts the needs of American businesses and workers before union politics.”

In recent years, retailers have been burdened by NLRB decisions on policies such as the joint-employer standard, micro-unions and changes to union election procedures.
