NRF has been conducting its annual Mother’s Day survey since 2003 to see how Americans will celebrate “mom” on her special day each spring.
Eighty-four percent of U.S. adults are expected to celebrate the holiday. On average, those celebrating plan to spend $254.04 on Mother’s Day gifts and celebrations, the second highest per-person figure, following last year’s record $274.02 per person.
With a return to timeless gifts like flowers and special outings, consumers plan to spend an average of $254 per person to celebrate the moms in their lives.
Take a deeper dive into the data and explore interactive charts analyzing celebration and purchasing trends over time in our Mother's Day Data Center.
Results of the Mother’s Day spending survey are released each year in late April.
